The Smithville Lady Warriors used a generous free throw line to beat the Chillicothe Lady Hornets 57-50 in the Cameron Tournament. Smithville was 21 of 28 at the free throw line compared to Chillicothe’s 11 of 24.
Chillicothe Coach Darren Smith said the cold shooting wasn’t just at the free throw line for his team.
Chillicothe was led by Hunter Keithley with 12 points and Essie Hicks with 11. Selby Miller and Jessica Reeter both had nine, Brooke Horton with four, Jordan Hibner with three, Lucy Reeter with two and playing time for Haley Kidd.
Chillicothe girls will play Cameron Saturday at 10:00am for third place. The Lady Dragons lost to Maryville 52-39.
