There are NO confirmed cases of COVID-19 / Coronavirus in Livingston County. Livingston County Health Center Director Sherry Weldon says despite rumors to the contrary, her department has NOT received information about a positive case.
Weldon stated a rumor in town cited an article in a newspaper. The Health Center has checked with the Missouri Department of Health and as of Wednesday evening we still have ZERO positive cases of Coronavirus here
Weldon says people have been tested in Livingston County, including those who aren’t critically ill. She says they can’t comment on the number of tests, as those are done by Hedrick Medical Center, but none of the tests have come back positive to date. Private testing is being utilized to speed up the identification of the virus locally.
Weldon says the Health Center WILL ABSOLUTELY LET THE PUBLIC KNOW as soon as we have a positive test. We are just as anxious as you are to know the true scope of the pandemic here in our own county. Until then, live like the virus is everywhere and take precautions to protect yourself, your loved ones and the community.
