Gallatin Man Charged After Serious Crash in Daviess County

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports a serious crash Friday afternoon in Daviess County that left several people injured.

The accident occurred around 2:20 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 6 and Route CC, about two miles west of Gallatin. Troopers say a 2018 GMC Sierra, driven by 45-year-old Jeremy D. Dungy of Gallatin, failed to yield at a stop sign and pulled into the path of an eastbound 2014 Ford Fusion, driven by a 24-year-old Kansas City man. The Fusion struck the driver’s side of the Sierra, sending both vehicles off the roadway.

Dungy suffered serious injuries and was flown by Life-Flight Eagle to Truman Medical Center in Kansas City. Two others were also seriously injured, first taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center and later flown to Liberty Hospital. Three additional people sustained minor injuries and were transported to Liberty Hospital.

Jeremy Dungy now faces multiple charges, including alleged felony DWI, DWI resulting in physical injury, and careless and imprudent driving involving a crash.

The Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department and Gallatin Fire Department.
