Harvest Equipment And Harvest Traffic

Harvest season has begun in Livingston County, and that means big equipment on the roads and making unexpected turns.  Livingston County FSA Executive Director Raysha Tate says now’s the time to start being cautious.

Don’t get in a hurry.

If planning to pass the equipment, make sure you can see around it.

If you can not see around them, don’t pass unless they are specifically directing YOU to pass.

Tate says to watch for signs that the equipment may be making a turn and give them time and space.

Slowing down may indicate they are preparing to make a turn.

As they are usually large pieces of equipment, Tate says a wide turn is often needed.
