During Monday’s blazing heat wave, the Lady Hornets tennis team hosted St. Pius at Danner Park for their annual team dual. The Lady Warriors looked as strong as ever with their #1 star hitter, Kierra Dunn, a returning state qualifier, back at the helm. The CHS team played some of their best tennis of the year with long rallies and sharp hitting, but it was not enough to capture a win on any court. Coach Pyrtle said, “If we can play like this all year, we’d be set. Now we just have to apply this high level of hitting against every team we face.” Tomorrow, the Lady Hornets are at home once again to face off against the Cameron Lady Dragons.
