The State’s Jobs report for August shows non-farm payroll decreased by 5,900 jobs, private industry employment decreased by 2,900 jobs, and government employment decreased by 3,000 jobs.
Missouri’s smoothed seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remains steady at 4.1%. That is four-tenths of a percentage point higher than the August 2024 rate of 3.7%.
The monthly unemployment report with a breakdown by county will be released on September 26th.
