A Bethany man who once ran the USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) in Washington DC, will return to the Nation’s Capitol as the new USDA’s Under Secretary of Farm Production and Conservation. Richard Fordyce was sworn in by the USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins during her visit to Kansas City.
In his new role, Fordyce will oversee and administer programs through the USDA’s Farm Service Agency, Natural Resources Conservation Service, and the Risk Management Agency.
Fordyce says he has one big goal. He says, “Technology is woefully behind within the agencies that make up the farm production and conservation mission area. There are a lot of things that I think that we can do to make it easier for farmers and ranchers to participate in programs.”
