Chillicothe Police Department Receives Blue Shield Grant

The Chillicothe Police Department is the recipient of a prestigious Missouri Blue Shield award of $50,000.  Captain Hays says the Blue Shield Program is part of Governor Mike Kehoe’s Safer Missouri initiative.

The $50,000 in funding will be used to upgrade outdated patrol vehicle laptops as the department transitions to a new records management system. This technology enhancement will:

  • Improve officer efficiency in the field
  • Keep officers on patrol longer
  • Enhance response times to community calls
  • Strengthen our ability to keep Chillicothe streets safe.
