Lady Hornets Volleyball Sweeps Cameron in District Opener

The Chillicothe Lady Hornets opened district tournament play in dominant fashion Tuesday night, sweeping Cameron 3-0 (25-9, 25-6, 25-17) in the first round.

The Lady Hornets controlled the match from start to finish, showcasing a balanced attack and steady defense. Lyla Beetsma led the offense with 18 kills and added 18 digs, while Emerson Staton tallied 14 kills and 12 digs. Ava Leamer contributed 8 kills, 11 digs, and 2 service aces.

Carman Woodworth directed the offense with 34 assists and added 2 aces, while Clara Fisher served 5 aces to keep Cameron on its heels throughout the match.

With the win, the Lady Hornets advance to the district semifinals, where they will face Bishop LeBlond tonight at 7 p.m. at LeBlond.
