A car fire on Route O, near Route Y in Grundy County, was handled by the Grundy County Rural Fire Protection District Thursday evening. The call came in at about 6:34 pm, and the fire crew arrived to find the vehicle fully involved in the engine compartment and passenger area. The fire crew was on the scene for about 40 minutes to extinguish the fire. The cause was undetermined, and the vehicle was a total loss.
