Three With Serious Injuries In Crash On US 36

A two-vehicle crash in Caldwell County left three with serious injuries.  Missouri Highway Patrol reported two Chillicothe residents in a van, a 67-year-old woman and her passenger – a 74-year-old man, and a 63-year-old Trenton man in a pick-up were injured.  The crash occurred Monday at 6:00 pm on US 36 at NE Litton Road, 10 miles east of Hamilton.  The Chillicothe vehicle was westbound when the Trenton driver was stopped in the crossover and pulled into the westbound lane and was struck by the westbound vehicle.  The vehicles went off the north side of the road, and the van became airborne, struck the ground, and overturned.  The Trenton man was taken to Liberty Hospital.  The Chillicothe woman was flown to St. Luke’s Hospital, and the man was flown to Truman Medical Center.

All three were wearing safety belts.
