September Unemployment Figures For Local Counties

Unemployment numbers for September 2025 are down for all the local counties compared to the August figures.  The release was delayed due to the Federal Government Shutdown.

The Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development released the September unemployment figures.

Looking at the area counties, from lowest to highest…

Daviess…………. 2.9%, down from 3.9% in August

Livingston………. 3.1%, down from 4.2% in August

Chariton…………. 3.2%, down from 4.4% in August

Sullivan………….. 3.3%, down from 4.3 in August

Caldwell…………. 3.4%, down from 4.6% in August

Carroll…………… 3.4%, down from 5.0% in August

Grundy………….. 3.6%, down from 5.3% in August

Linn………………. 3.6%, down from 4.8% in August

The State of Missouri is at 3.5%, down from 4.5%.

The US unemployment figure is at 4.3%, down from 4.5%.
