Mutual Aid – Assistance Requests For Fighting Rural Fires

Mutual Aid was recently used for a house fire handled by the Chillicothe Fire Department.  Fire Chief Eric Reeter says Mutual Aid is a way of supporting a department that needs assistance.  He says it is common for them to call for Mutual Aid.

Anytime they are paged for a structure fire outside the city limits.

Water tankers are the primary request from the department.

Create a shuttle to have a continuous supply of water.

Reeter says they make the request based on the location of the fire.

Chula, Wheeling, Dawn, Hale, or other departments.

Another consideration is knowing what departments are active and have the needed equipment.
