Livingston County will be dipping into reserves in 2026. The first of two public hearings on the 2026 budget was held. Presiding Commissioner Ed Douglas broke down some of the primary numbers.
$11.6m in revenue – $13.1m in expenditures.
Douglas says there are several impacts on the budget.
Sales Tax is down, sewer repairs, and jail costs.
He says they did include a cost-of-living adjustment of 4% for the hourly employees and 3% for the elected officials.
The final budget hearing will be held on January 29th at 11:00 am as part of the County Commission meeting.
