City Adopts Hazard Mitigation Plan

The City of Chillicothe adopted the Livingston County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan as part of Monday’s City Council meeting.  Chillicothe Fire Chief Eric Reeter presented the plan.  He says the approval does help the city.

Could allow the city to apply for mitigation grant funding.

Reeter says the Chillicothe Fire Department is the response team for the region.

All they can do is stop a leak and notify those who can do clean-up.

The department has a response trailer with needed supplies for limiting the spread of hazardous materials, and also has a trailer from the railroad for the same purpose.
