As the Chillicothe Police Facility project nears completion, certain testing is required. One of the required tests is the Emergency Responder Communications. That test was conducted as required under the International Fire Code. The test included the ability to send and receive radio signals throughout the building. To pass, a score above 95% is required. Police Chief Jon Maples explained the results of the test.
Didn’t pass in the booking area and a storage closet.
Maples says a practical test was then conducted.
Used the actual radios and frequencies for the departments and had no problems.
As a result, a request of the Chillicothe City Council was made to approve a waiver of the ERC Radio testing, under the International Fire Code, to receive the certificate of occupancy. The council approved.
