The Chillicothe Fire Department will receive 15 sets of new Turnout Gear at the cost of nine sets. When the Chillicothe Fire Department ordered 15 sets of gear earlier this year and the order was delivered. There was an issue with the jackets and the company agreed to correct the error at no charge to the city.
Fire Chief Eric Reeter told the City Council that they then received a second order.
Due to a software error with the ordering process.
Reeter said they had intended to order an additional 9 sets in the next fiscal year, so they negotiated.
Will get the 15 sets for the cost of less than what nine sets would cost,
and they will have the errors on the jackets corrected.
Billing for the second set will take place after the start of the 2026/27 fiscal year.
