Barbara Marie Patton Blodgett, 81 of Macon, MO passed away on Saturday December 13th, 2025 at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, MO. She was born on June 6th, 1944 to Edward Patton and Frances Marie Walker Patton. On December 24, 1964 Barbara married James “David” Blodgett in Macon, Mo. They lived a wonderful life together. Barbara enjoyed bowling with the women’s bowling league in Chillicothe, MO, Abilene, KS and Macon, MO. and was a proud member of the Red Hatters. She loved searching garage sales and auctions for outstanding deals. Especially if these deals involved angels and purses.
Barbara worked many years at Lamberts Glove Factory in Chillicothe. Barbara also co-owned a wrecker service when she lived in Chillicothe with her husband David. Barbara worked alongside David more than twenty years as a truck driver for Bekin, Mayflower and Graebel Trucking Companies. They were awarded for their safety by the Graebel Trucking Company.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Frances Patton, her husband, David Blodgett, sisters, Betty Smith, Mary Anderson, Ethyl Goodwin, and Bonnie McElhaney, nephews, David Lee Blodgett, Mark Alan Blodgett, Michael Dewey Blodgett, Jason Blodgett and Richard McElhaney, nieces, Connie Sue Smith and Bessie Smith.
Barbara is survived by many nieces and nephews, Rick (Kay) Burnam, Dennis (Cheryl) Burnam, Sherrie (Larry) Wohlgemuth, Brenda (Diyep) Womack, Scott (Lynn) Simmons, Randy Blodgett, Cindy Thomas, Nancy Blodgett, Michael (Kelly) Lowrance, Brian (Amanda) Bealmer, Carrie (Jesse) Breshears, James (Rhonda) Blodgett, Ron (Kendra) Blodgett, Donald (Barbara) McElhaney, Robert (Linda) McElhaney, Michael (Charlotte) McElhaney, Kenny Smith, and Mary Lou (Denver) Lester. She is also survived by many great nieces and nephews and numerous friends.
A Memorial Service will be held for Barbara Marie Blodgett on February 7th, 2026, 11:00am at Heritage Funeral Home in Chillicothe, MO.
