The Chillicothe Lady Hornets hosted Versailles on Wednesday night.
Coming off just their 2nd loss of the season, the Lady Hornets started extremely fast against the Lady Tigers. Chillicothe opened with a 17-0 run and lead 25-8 at the end of the first quarter. The 2nd quarter was more of the same for Chillicothe, taking a 46-11 lead into the half. Chillicothe dominated on the glass, only allowing Versailles one first half defensive rebound while Lyla Beetsma led the charge with 16 first half points.
In the 2nd half, Chillicothe slowed the tempo down but still managed to get four players into double figures, Beetsma finished with 19, Lexy Smith had 18 on six made threes and Emerson Staton and Lydia Bonderer both added a dozen for Chillicothe who won 64-21.
It was the third win of 40 points or more on the season and the Lady Hornets improved to 17-2. Chillicothe will travel to St. Joe Benton on Friday in an MEC clash.
