Graves Secures Funding For New GRTS Building

Two million dollars to help build a new state-of-the-art facility for Grand River Technical School in Chillicothe has been secured.  Congressman Sam Graves announced the funding is part of the Consolidated Appropriations Act that was signed by the President on February 3rd.

Graves says “We’re investing in critical projects in North Missouri, while reining in the size of government.  Grand River Technical School has served Chillicothe and the surrounding communities well for over five decades, but they are in desperate need of a new facility. I’m proud to include funding to help build this new, state-of-the-art facility to provide quality career and technical education for North Missouri students for many years to come.”

The school will serve high school students from 15 school districts in a 7-county region, adult learners from all over North Missouri, and workforce development partners across a multi-county area, supporting economic mobility and community prosperity.

GRTS Director Adam Wolf said, “Grand River Technical School and the Chillicothe R-II School District have been working hard to upgrade our facilities to better serve our students, and this investment will allow us to expand high-quality, hands-on learning opportunities that will prepare students for high-demand careers and a strong future workforce in North Missouri.”
