The Chillicothe Police Department report for the weekend includes 108 calls for service, including an unattended death.
On Friday, calls included a domestic disturbance on Walnut Street, a report of stealing on Grave Street, and a burglary alarm on Mitchell Avenue that turned out to be a secure building. Officers also took a juvenile into protective custody near Highway 36 after concerns were raised by another jurisdiction. A report of a person in crisis on Clay Street did not meet the criteria for a 96-hour hold, but officers continued to check on the individual’s well-being.
Saturday, calls included a noise complaint involving a refrigeration unit and a well-being check at a Monroe Street group home.
On Sunday, Police investigated a reported assault involving an intoxicated man on Locust Street. An elderly man suffering from dementia was taken for medical evaluation after a disturbance on Thompson Drive. Officers made an arrest on Maple Street on a warrant for non-support. Other reports included stealing, harassment, a possible burglary on Jansen Street, and an unattended death on Gale Street that appears to be from natural causes.
