The Chillicothe Hornets and Lady Hornets had four individual wrestlers compete at state, including two who finished top 6 in their weight class. For the Lady Hornets, Sophie Hurtgen qualified for the state finals, while Marshall Boon, Riggin Isaacs, and Tucker Slattery all qualified on the boys side. In the Missouri High School Class 2 Wrestling State Finals, both Marshall Boon and Tucker Slattery emerged with top 6 finishes.
Slattery won high first two matches at 190 to advance to the state semifinals, winning by decision in the first round and by fall in the 2nd round. In the semifinals, Slattery came up short against Michael Scott from Odessa. Slattery was forced to medical forfeit the consolation semifinals, and the 5th place match, but still landed in 6th place overall.
Boon won his first match at 106 by fall, before being taken down in the quarterfinal by Trevor Cole of Mexico. Boon then went on a run through the consolation bracket, winning three straight matches to advance to the 3rd place final. Boon lost by decision in the 3rd place bout to finish 4th in the state.
