CMU Budget Ready For City Council Consideration

The Chillicothe Board of Public Works approved the budget for the upcoming fiscal year.  That budget will be sent to the Chillicothe City Council for final approval.

The budget for CMU includes revenues of nearly $24.2 million and expenditures of just over $19.2 million.  Capital items included in the budget total about $9.5 million.

CMU General Manager Matt Hopper says the budget does include a 3% across the board cost of living adjustment.  They also approve the funding of the life scan programs for employees.

Hopper talked about the major projects for the 2026/27 fiscal year.

Electric projects and CMU Office roof.

There are also projects for the Water and Wastewater Departments

Roofing, engineering, main work, and the Eastside interceptor and a lining project.

CMU will also purchase a new refuse truck as part of the budget.
