A pair of local boys basketball teams have advanced to the Missouri High School State Final Four.
In Class 2, the Penney Hornets of Hamilton dispatched of Lincoln in the state quarterfinals 51-35. Penney will face Hayti on Friday night at 8 PM at Mizzou Arena in Columbia. This is the first time Penney has advanced to the Final Four since 1981. Penney enters Friday’s state semifinal at 23-8, while the Hayti Indians are 20-6.
In Class 1, the Brunswick Wildcats defeated Northeast 75-57 in the state quarterfinal. Brunswick will square off with Kingsville earlier in the day Friday, at noon. Brunswick last made the Final Four in 2000. Brunswick sports an impressive 27-3 record while Kingsville is 25-5.
