Two hundred one calls for service were handled by the Chillicothe Police Department over the weekend.
On Friday, officers responded to a two-vehicle accident in the 1300 block of Washington Street with possible injuries. Both vehicles were towed due to heavy damage, and one driver was taken to the hospital. Later that evening, officers arrested a 44-year-old man during a traffic stop after discovering he did not have a valid driver’s license. Reports of reckless driving, including a pickup spinning tires and motorcycles racing through traffic, were also investigated but suspects were not located.
Saturday, Officers made multiple traffic-related arrests, including a 26-year-old woman for driving without a valid license. At Simpson Park, officers calmed an out-of-control juvenile and referred the case to the juvenile office. Two motorcyclists were arrested after being stopped for riding the wrong way on a one-way street; neither had proper endorsements. Later, officers arrested a suspect for felony stealing after he fled from police while pushing a cart of stolen merchandise valued at more than $750.
On Sunday, officers arrested a driver for DWI following a traffic stop. Police also assisted another agency in attempting to locate a possibly intoxicated driver, though that vehicle was not found.
