The National Weather Service issued a Flood Watch for a large area of Central and west Central Missouri, including Caldwell, Livingston, Carroll, Chariton, and Linn counties in the listening area. The Flood Watch is from 7:00 pm today through Thursday afternoon, and is due to excessive rainfall forecast for the area.
As of this morning, Chillicothe has received .88, with another 1 – 1½ inches possible through the watch period.
Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Do not drive through flooded roads, as you can not determine the condition of the road under the water. When necessary, find an alternate route.
