The National Weather Service issued a Flood Watch for a large area of Central and west Central Missouri, including Caldwell, Livingston, Carroll, Chariton, and Linn counties in the listening area. The Flood Watch remains in effect into this afternoon, and is due to excessive rainfall forecast for the area.
A Flood Advisory is issued for Carroll, Chariton, and Linn Counties. between a half inch and two inches of rain is estimated in this area.
A Wind Advisory is issued for Linn and Sullivan counties, with wind gusts up to 45 mph expected.
.As of this morning, Chillicothe has received 1.79 inches of rain. Additional rainfall, up to an additional inch of rain, is expected across the area as the system continues to move through the area headed into the weekend.
Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Do not drive through flooded roads, as you can not determine the condition of the road under the water. When necessary, find an alternate route.
