Audrey Condron, age 98, of Blue Mound, Missouri, passed away on April 1, 2026, at Morningside Center in Chillicothe, Missouri.
She was born on January 1, 1928, in Gallatin, Missouri, the daughter of Ross and Vida (Smith) Lee, at the home of her grandma and granddad, George and Lucy Lee. She attended Wooderson Grade School, located between Hamilton and Gallatin, until 1939, when she moved with her parents to Tina, Missouri, where she entered the sixth grade. Audrey graduated from Tina High School in 1945.
On December 7, 1947, she was united in marriage to Walter L. Condron. The couple initially made their home in Kansas City, where Walter was employed. In 1952, they moved to their country home, where they spent the remainder of their lives together. Walter preceded her in death on September 7, 2007.
Audrey attended Blue Mound Cowboy Church. She loved the outdoors and was actively involved in farm life, often helping in many ways, including mowing her acreage on her lawn mower. She always maintained a garden and took pride in her flowers. Audrey was also well known for making exceptional meringue pies.
She is survived by two children: Linda Childs and her husband, Ed, and Ronald Condron and his wife, Danuta, all of Dawn, Missouri; five grandchildren: Craig Childs, Kurt (Amy) Childs, Chris (Crystal) Condron, Lacey (Philip) Carpenter, and Aaron (Julie) Condron; thirteen great grandchildren: Paige, Brooke, Dalton, Seth, Ean, Taytum, Matney, Mylee, Litton, Ellie, Audrey, Ennis, and Erin; and one great-great-granddaughter, Eden. Audrey is also survived by one sister-in-law, Patricia Pfaffly and husband, Jerry, of Amarillo, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Lavonne Lee and his wife, Melba Dean; and sister, Rose Mary Kesler and her husband Carl.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe, Missouri. A scheduled visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Friends may also sign the register at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will be held at Blue Mound Cemetery in Dawn, Missouri.
