One-hundred-seventy-two calls for service were handled by the Chillicothe Police Department from Friday through Sunday.
Among the incidents investigated, officers took a report Friday morning involving a fraudulent $100,000 loan allegedly taken out in a resident’s name and against their business. Police are continuing that investigation.
Officers also responded to a reported structure fire on Samuel Street Friday evening, assisted with several child custody disputes throughout the weekend, and investigated multiple accidents, including a rollover crash Sunday morning after a driver swerved to avoid a deer. No injuries were reported in the crash.
Saturday afternoon, officers responded after a 2-year-old child was found alone in the roadway on Grandview Avenue. Police located the child’s parent and took a report.
Other weekend calls included suspicious activity, theft, trespassing, mental health-related incidents, welfare checks, and medical calls. Officers also conducted numerous traffic stops, business checks, and follow-up investigations.
