Chillicothe’s golf team wrapped up a strong season with a solid showing at the Class 3 State Golf Championships at Sedalia Country Club, highlighted by an All-State performance from sophomore standout Jameson Marshall.
Marshall finished tied for 12th overall in the state field after rounds of 71 and 80 for a two-day total of 151 on the par-70 course. His opening-round 71 had him firmly in contention near the top of the leaderboard entering the final day, and his finish earned him All-State honors against a strong Class 3 field in Missouri.
Freshman teammate AJ Warren also represented the Hornets well at state, tying for 37th overall with rounds of 76 and 83 for a total score of 159.
Harper Elliott of Springfield Catholic High School and Houston Maddox Tiefenbrunn of St. Francis Borgia Regional High School each finished at 141 over two rounds at the top of the standings for the Class 3 state championship.
Marshall’s All-State finish capped an outstanding season for the Hornets program and showcased Chillicothe’s ability to compete with the top golfers across the state.
