The Chillicothe Police Department report for Tuesday includes 77 calls for service.
At 11:21 p.m., Officers arrested a 42-year-old man for alleged 2nd degree rape in the 1600 block of Polk St. The arrest occurred after receiving a report from a teenager and their parents, and investigating. The man was processed at the Police Department and transported to the Caldwell County Detention Center, where he was placed on a 24-hour hold pending the filing of formal charges.
Officers responded to a stranded motorist, investigated reports of a wrong-way driver and a careless and imprudent driver, but were unable to locate either vehicle.
Police also investigated a minor single-vehicle crash in the 300 block of Webster Street where a vehicle struck trash cans, causing minor damage. Officers conducted several well-being checks, responded to a suspicious person complaint at Simpson Park with no criminal activity found, and assisted a caller with questions about possible harassment.
Late Tuesday night, officers investigated a possible person in crisis report tied to a hotline call. They determined the incident was actually occurring in Chillicothe, Ohio.
