The Chillicothe R-II Board of Education approved several personnel actions during its meeting on Tuesday, June 16, including new hires, resignations and coaching assignments.
Among the certified staff hires, the board approved William Shaffer as the district’s part-time GRTS Personal Finance Instructor. The board also accepted the resignations of Amy Dixon, physical education teacher at Chillicothe Elementary School, and Brandon Duckworth, Computer Service Instructor.
For support staff, Melanie Dinwiddie was hired as a middle school paraprofessional and Lillian Kitchin was approved as an elementary school paraprofessional.
Several extra-duty positions were also filled. Lily Pyrtle was hired as assistant girls tennis coach, Konner Sewell as assistant softball coach, Landyn Peterson as middle school cross country coach, Cody Trussell as head baseball coach and Fallon Forbes as high school student council sponsor. The board also accepted the resignation of Carl Mercer as high school and middle school assistant wrestling coach.
In other action, the Board of Education established an asking price of $399,000 for the former bus barn property located on Gilbert Street.
