The Chillicothe Mudcats Baseball team is celebrating 25 years this weekend with a series of games at Shaffer Park, Friday through Sunday.
Some of the special events for the weekend include:
Three days of Mudcats baseball
Former players and coaches returning to the field
More than $17,000 in cash giveaways throughout the weekend
Saturday night fireworks after the game
Game times:
Friday and Saturday at 7:15 p.m. – Sunday at 4:15 p.m.
Did you know the Chillicothe Mudcats have had several players who moved on to the pros in one form or another? They include:
2005/2006 Caleb Joseph played for the Baltimore Orioles – first to appear on a major league roster in 2014
2010 Jared King – drafted by the New York Mets
2011 Zach Esquerra – drafted by the Diamondbacks
2011 Jonathan Davis – played for the Toronto Blue Jays organization
2013 Brandon Dulin – drafted by the Kansas City Royals
KCHI radio has been a part of the Chillicothe Mudcats Baseball program from the start, broadcasting every game and providing the on air tallent. A few of the notable members of the broadcast team include:
Josh Sours – 2014 announcer, and he continues to broadcast sporting events for the University of Texas – Arlington.
Ryan Swanigan – 2015 announcer. He is continuing to call sporting events, including the Lincoln Saltdogs Studio Host and the Lincoln Prep Sports announcer.
And
Zach Makey – 2018 announcer. He is currently the director of broadcasting for Virginia Tech
