Governor Mike Kehoe has requested a Federal Disaster Declaration for 34 counties in Missouri, in response to dangerous flash flooding, several tornadoes, and intense straight-line winds that heavily impacted several regions of Missouri from June 4th – 18th.
Based on the documented damage and emergency response costs, the Governor is requesting FEMA Public Assistance for 34 counties. In the local area, that includes: Daviess, Grundy, Linn, and Sullivan counties
If approved, Public Assistance would allow local governments and qualifying nonprofit agencies to seek federal assistance for reimbursement of emergency response and recovery costs, including the repair and replacement of damaged roads, bridges, and other public infrastructure.
