The Chillicothe Police Department report for Labor Day includes 36 calls for service.
Officers assisting another agency with a welfare check in the 900 block of Frederick Street located a firearm in the possession of someone prohibited from having it. The firearm was seized and returned to its rightful owner.
Police also investigated a reported violation of an order of protection in the 300 block of Vine Street. The complaint involved alleged access to a cellphone and social media accounts. The case remains under investigation, and no arrest has been made.
In the 300 block of Park Lane, officers checking on a resident found an adult deceased inside a residence. Chillicothe EMS and the Livingston County Coroner responded.
Later, officers investigated a two-vehicle crash on Calhoun Street involving a car and a pickup towing a trailer. One person reported minor injuries and was evaluated by EMS.
Officers also conducted traffic stops, business and vehicle checks, and followed up on several investigations.
