The former Sullivan County Public Administrator, 65-year-old Joan Brummitt, of Milan has filed for a change of venue. Brummitt is charged with alleged four counts each of Financial Exploitation of the elderly and Stealing.
On September 1st, the court set a trial date for December 29th in Sullivan County Court.
Brummitt’s attorney has requested a change from Sullivan County to Putnam County. Among the reasons for the change, she claims Sullivan County citizens would know her from being the Sullivan County Public Administrator and her lifelong residency.
No action has been taken on the Change of Venue motion.
