Later, a two-vehicle crash involving a semi and an SUV was investigated, with no injuries reported. Officers also checked a possible attempted break-in at a North Washington residence, but found no signs of entry. A separate hit-and-run crash on Washington Street remains under investigation, with police seeking surveillance video and information from the public.
Saturday: Officers investigated several theft-related calls, including the reported theft of alcohol from a business and property taken from a home. Both investigations remain ongoing. Police investigated a two-vehicle crash at Elm and Elmdale, with no injuries reported.
Sunday: A 21-year-old man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after an officer observed careless and imprudent driving on North Washington Street. He was later released with citations and a court date. Officers also checked reports of screaming and children playing near the roadway, but found the children were safe and supervised. A reported custody dispute was also investigated, with officers finding the children properly supervised by two adults.
Police also conducted traffic stops, business and vehicle checks, and follow-up investigations throughout the weekend.
