Robert “Bob” Herman Paschen

Robert “Bob” Herman Paschen, 92, of Sedalia passed away September 29th at Bothwell Regional Medical Center in Sedalia, Missouri in the presence of family. Bob was born on December 4th, 1933 in Salisbury, Missouri to William Paschen, Sr. and Gladys Paschen (Allnutt). He attended the one-room schoolhouse in Sampsel. He was the head… and tail… of his 8th grade class. He graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1951.

     Bob was drafted into the United States Navy in 1955 and served until 1957, where he served aboard the USS Mount Baker (AE-4). He was one of few Navy draftees in a sea of Army draftees in his lot. On December 2nd, 1961, Bob married Karen Tiberghien in Hecla, Missouri. They ran the store in Sampsel, Missouri off and on through the 1960s. He also worked nights for the United States Postal Service from just before his first child, Nancy, was born until just before his beloved wife passed away.

Bob is survived by his daughter Nancy Link and her husband, David; his son Scott Paschen and his wife, Toni; his grandchildren Abby Ellis and her husband Chuck, Scott Link, Lawrence Link, Henry Link, Josh Paschen, Jordan Paschen and his husband Ryan, and Misha Paschen; his great grandchildren, Ben Reed, Jaxon Reed, Lincoln Ellis, and Gabriel Paschen; and several other nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in passing by his wife, Karen, his parents Pete & Gladys, and Bill & Mary Ann Paschen, his brother and his sister-in-law.

A cremation will be held, with a private family inurnment to follow at a later date, at Mt. Olive Cemetery, just outside Chillicothe.
