The NEA Big Read at the Livingston County Library continues Thursday with a book discussion. In September, the Library hosted Missouri storyteller Sarah Tucker Poff and her presentation, We the People, Passing the Legacy. Those who attended enjoyed receiving their free copy of the book, Harriet Tubman: The Road to Freedom by Catherine Clinton.
On Thursday, the Friends of the Library will conduct a moderated discussion of the book, beginning at 6:00 pm in the Second-Floor Courtroom of the Livingston County Library. Participants will explore the symbolism and meaning of the Underground Railroad, its historical realities, and its significance in Harriet Tubman’s life and the broader fight against slavery.
That discussion will continue on November 12th and December 10th.
Free copies of the book are still available at the library while supplies last.
