Discussions about the future of Chillicothe City Hall continued at Monday’s City Council meeting. Councilman-At-Large Tom Ashbrook again led the discussion, favoring a restoration/renovation of the existing building in phases. Ashbrook first talked about new construction.
An extended time for design and construction.
He says renovation can be done in phases.
Four phases over a period of time, paid from the Capital Improvement Fund.
The first phase would need to include the roof and the mortar work at the top of the walls.
While no official decision was made, the city will contact the architects and begin the process for a roof replacement. Phase one is estimated at $1.9 million, and more than $400,000 has been set aside to begin the work.
