Carla Sue Harp

Carla Sue Harp, 60, of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away at her home on Thursday, October 15, 2026.

Carla was born on May 3, 1966, in Chillicothe, Missouri, to William Carl Conner and Shirley Ann Mann. A lifelong resident of Chillicothe, she graduated from Chillicothe High School with the Class of 1984. She spent her life building lasting friendships, making memories, and surrounding herself with the people and things she loved most.

In June 1987, Carla married Randy Harp. They shared 24 years of marriage and together raised their two children, Dillon and Tatum. Those years were filled with the experiences, milestones, and memories of raising a family, a chapter of her life that would forever hold a special place in her story.

Carla later married Frank Gladfelder, who survives her at their home.

For 30 years, Carla dedicated herself to her career as a hairdresser and was the proud owner and operator of Attitudes in Chillicothe. Throughout her career, she formed countless friendships and lasting relationships with those who sat in her chair. Her salon was more than a place to get your hair done; it was a place for conversation, laughter, and friendships that extended far beyond its doors.

Outside of work, Carla enjoyed bowling, gardening, relaxing in the pool, tending to her chickens, and caring for her beloved dogs. She found happiness in life’s simple pleasures and especially cherished the moments spent surrounded by family.

But of all the roles Carla held throughout her life, none brought her greater pride or happiness than being GG.

Her six grandchildren, Reese, Maverick, Remi, Ryatt, Rhett, and Hudsyn, were truly the light of her life. Whether they were swimming in her pool, spending the night at GG’s house, helping with her chickens, or simply enjoying time together, those moments meant the world to her. Each grandchild held a special place in her heart, and the love she had for them was immeasurable. Being their GG was not just a title; it was one of her greatest joys and the role she treasured most.

Carla is survived by her husband, Frank Gladfelder, of the home; her son, Dillon Harp, and his wife, Lora, of Trenton, Missouri, and their children, Maverick and Hudsyn; her daughter, Tatum Harp, of Chillicothe, Missouri, and her children, Reese, Remi, Ryatt, and Rhett; her mother, Shirley Ann (Mann) Goll, of Chillicothe, Missouri; and her brother, Chris Conner, and his wife, Linda, of San Francisco, California, and their children, Haley and Will. She also leaves behind extended family members and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, William Carl Conner.

Though her family wishes they had more time, they will forever carry with them the moments, laughter, and love they shared. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the memories she leaves behind will continue to bring comfort and keep her spirit alive in the hearts of those who loved her.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at First Baptist Church in Chillicothe, Missouri. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Edgewood Cemetery in Chillicothe, Missouri.
