Unemployment numbers for August 2026 are down in all of the local counties. The Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development released the August unemployment figures.

Daviess…………. 2.6%, down from 3.0% in August
Caldwell…………. 2.8%, down from 3.7% in August
Grundy………….. 2.8%, down from 4.6% in August
Livingston………. 2.9%, down from 3.4% in August
Chariton…………. 3.0%, down from 3.8% in August
Linn………………. 3.0%, down from 4.0%, in August
Sullivan………….. 3.1%, down from 4.5% in August
Carroll…………… 3.3%, down from 3.7% in August
The State of Missouri is at 3.3%, down from 3.9% in August, and the US unemployment figure is 4.0%, down from 4.3% in August.
