Two single-vehicle accidents involving area residents were investigated by the Missouri Highway Patrol Tuesday.
At about 7:20 am a Carrollton woman and her 6-year-old son had minor injuries in an accident that happened on US 65 in Pettis County, Twenty-eight-year-old Joylynn Allard of Carrollton was southbound when she hydroplaned off the right side of the road. Her car hit an embankment and overturned, coming to rest on its top. Allard and her son were taken to Bothwell Hospital for treatment. They were wearing safety belts.
At about 9:45 pm in Linn County, an accident left the driver with moderate injuries. Forty-year-old Jessica Coke of Linneus was westbound on US 36, near Brookfield, and ran off the left side of the road. She overcorrected and crossed the road and her pick-up overturned. Coke was taken to Pershing Memorial Hospital for treatment and was later transported to University Hospital in Columbia.
Coke was arrested for alleged no valid drivers license, DWI and failure to drive on the right side of the roadway. She was released for treatment.
