The Chillicothe City Council conducted a Tax Rate Hearing as part of Monday’s meeting, to allow the approval of setting the city’s personal property and real estate tax at .8862 per $100 valuation. This is an increase of .0003 from the rate set last year. City Administrator Darrin Chappell says the rate is recommended by the state.
A public hearing was held on the tax rate, but there were no comments form the public. The new rate was approved on a 3/0 vote.
