Joshua Dennis, a candidate for the Livingston County Coroner’s office, has requested a change of venue for future court proceedings on a charge of Class Four Election Offenses. Dennis pled not guilty September 14th to the charges that he made statements in a newspaper article he would donate his first-year salary to Livingston County and do the coroner job for free to help cover any cost that may occur from the office moving. The probable cause statement also states Dennis made similar comments in a video.
Prior to entering the not guilty plea, Judge Michael Leamer, who had been assigned the case, stepped aside and Judge James Bradley Funk was assigned.
Dennis is scheduled for his next appearance on October 22nd for Plea and Trial Setting. The appearance is currently scheduled to be held in the 3rd flood courtroom at the Livingston County Courthouse.
