A ceremonial Ground Breaking marked the start of construction for the new Veterans Building. Ed Allender, President of LICOVA – the Livingston County Veterans Association, says this is a milestone for a project that began more than three years ago.
Allender says they have raised $1.1 million through donations or pledges, with about $230,000 still to be raised.
He says the work will begin very soon on the construction.
The ceremony included numerous veterans, Mayor Theresa Kelly, the County Commissioners, and Representative Rusty Black.
