The Chillicothe Baseball team had a big win in the Pony Express tournament after losing their first two games.
Chillicothe opened the 7th place game with an 8-run top of the first inning and rolled over Kansas City Northeast in a 15-2 win in five innings. In addition to the eight runs in the 1st, Chillicothe scored twice in the third inning and five runs in the fourth inning for a 15-0 lead.
At the plate Landon Winder had two singles, two RBI, a walk and scored two runs.
Gabe Hansen and Trent Keith each had doubles, while Griff Bonderer, Alijah Hibner, Landon Swift and Gage Leamer each had singles.
KC Northeast was held to just two hits and committed eight errors.
Hibner had the start on the mound with Grant Leamer in relief. They teamed up to allow two runs on two hits with ten strike outs and four walks.
First Place in the tournament went to Savannah, which thumped Lafayette 17-4
Third place was Savannah over Platte County 4-0
Fifth place was Maryville over Benton 5-4.
