Mayor Reed Dupy Signs “Pink Out Day” Proclamation

October 5th has been declared “Pink Out Day” in Chillicothe.  Mayor Reed Dupy signed the declaration to recognize those that are fighting cancer.  The Hedrick Medical Center Emergency Department and Chillicothe Fire Department have worked together to raise money to help cancer patients pay for treatment through the Hope House and for activities within the community.  Last year the two organizations raised more than $8,300 through the sale of Pink-Out T-Shirts and through boot blocks at the annual Chautauqua in the park.  Donations will also be collected before the home football game on October 5.

The boot blocks will be posted at the intersection of Park Lane and Washington during the Chautauqua and at the intersection of Clay and Washington before the football game. They will be easily identified by the newly designed pink breast cancer awareness t-shirts they will be wearing

The shirts are available for sale.  Contact Shannon at the Chillicothe Fire Department at 646-2139
