An accident in Dekalb County left a Gallatin man with minor injuries Wednesday morning. State Troopers report at 5:50 am, 56-year-old Jeffery McNickle of Gallatin was westbound on US 36, near Stewartsville, and ran off the north side of the road. The vehicle struck a road sign and embankment and overturned, coming to rest on its top, in the roadway. McNickle was taken to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph. He was wearing a safety belt.
A three-vehicle accident on Highway 6 near Gallatin left two Trenton residents with minor injuries. The accident happened at about 11:05 am Wednesday, on Highway 6. According to the Highway Patrol, a vehicle driven by 52-year-old David Collins of Trenton was eastbound and fell asleep. His vehicle crossed the road and struck the rear axel of a westbound semi and the front bumper of a westbound vehicle. Collins and his passenger, 40-year-old April Swank of Trenton, were taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. Everyone involved in the accident was wearing a safety belt.
