As many begin gathering the needed information for the filing of taxes in early 2022, the IRS reminds us that to be wary of calls and emails claiming to be from the IRS. IRS spokesman Michael Devine says those phone calls are not coming from their offices.
Devine says don’t be pressured into sending money or providing information.
He says the same for emails claiming to be from the IRS.
And if you do get those emails and feel there may be something you need to check, DON’T follow the links in the email, go to IRS.gov, and find the number or proper link to get answers.
